Annually, the Ohio University Alumni Association Board of Directors selects recipients for five different award categories, to recognize the numerous achievements and contributions alumni and friends make to their communities and Ohio University. Nominations are accepted throughout the year. The deadline for the 2010 Awards is December 31, 2009. To make a nomination, please review the brief objective for each of the different awards and complete the Nomination Form. For fullest consideration, each nomination must include a Nomination Form, two letters of support and a resume of the person being nominated. Questions? Awards Descriptions
Alumnus/a of the Year
Awarded to alumni who have distinguished themselves in their field, and in service and support of the university. Nominees must have previously received the Medal of Merit or Distinguished Service Award. One award is given annually.
Medal of Merit
Awarded to alumni who have achieved distinction in their chosen fields. A maximum of four awards is given annually.
Distinguished Service Award
Awarded to alumni who have supported Ohio University and the Alumni Association through alumni chapters, clubs, societies, or other organizations. A maximum of four awards is given annually.
Charles J. and Claire O. Ping Recent Graduate Award
Awarded to alumni who graduated in the last 15 years of receiving their first baccalaureate degree. They must demonstrate community leadership whose college education has been a factor in their success, and have been actively engaged with the university through exemplary service or support. A maximum of two awards is given annually.
Honorary Alumnus/Alumna Award
Awarded to non-alumni who have provided exemplary service and support to Ohio University. One award is given annually.
